The second film by Eleonora Danco will have its premiere on November 28th
The 42nd edition of the Torino Film Festival will take place in the Piedmontese capital from the 22nd to the 30th of November 2024.
n-Ego, the second work by Roman playwright, actress and director Eleonora Danco will be in Competition, in the International Feature Films section.
n-Ego is ideally the second film in the trilogy conceived by the director, which begun with N-Capace. The director's first feature, released in 2014, was also presented at the Torino Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention.
n-Ego is an intense and free exploration of the human condition, a journey through the streets, where the director faces a profound creative and existential crisis. In search of authenticity, she immerses herself in different places, meets characters whose stories reflect her fears and desires. Each encounter becomes a reflection of her inner demons, transforming the lives of these individuals into pieces of an emotional mosaic. The director, disguised as a De Chirico-like mannequin, with her face covered by a stocking and a cartridge case of sleeping pills on her chest, is a marked, scratched character, who still retains the unconscious spirit of childhood. Through evocative images, a bold editing, and with a dramatic and fun pace, n-Ego transcends reality, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own existence, in the labyrinth that is the chaos of Adult life.
Edoardo Camurri writes about the film:
The film starts a dance of care in which we lose control, in which that time and space so specific, those biographies so detailed, those lives that are ours and that play the drum of suffering, stretch out on an interstellar plane that is truer and sweeter.
n-Ego is an exorcism that has the form of a film.
n-Ego by Eleonora Danco will have its premiere on November 28th at 7:30 pm, at the Cinema Massimo in Turin, in the presence of the director, part of the cast and the producers.
The film is a Nightswim production, in co-production with Tessalit Productions, in collaboration with Rai Cinema and with the contribution of the MIC and Lazio Cinema International.
Produced by Ines Vasiljevic, Stefano Sardo and co-produced by Jean Bréhat and Fabrizio Mosca, the film will be released soon in Italian theaters.
